Solo/Solo Two from ON Line

One of the original ruffling yarns. The yarn opens into a mesh-like fabric and is worked along one edge to create ruffles. Rich colors with a soft feel and matte finish. One ball makes a short scarf.

NOTE FROM CATHY: I knitted the piece as a "swatch" to see how the "yarn" worked and what it would look like. I cast on 10 stitches (you just poke through the "yarn" every so often from one side) - it helps to try and open the yarn so it is more like a flat ribbon of fabric. I knit the 10 stitches for a couple of rows (use the same edge of the yarn as you go, poking through as you knit), then decreased to 8 stitches. Once you get to the other end (knit for as long as you like) increase 2 stitches so that you have the 10 again and do the same number of rows as you did at the beginning. Bind off. You can tug a little at the scarf to fluff out the ruffles and stretch it a bit to add a little length. It is a bit "weird" to work with, but not difficult - relax and play with it until you're comfortable - it will go smoothly once you get going.
