Three Confections (No. 125) from Noni This pattern contains instructions for three confections -- sweet little bags that are perfect for day trips, fun stops at the downtown mall, or strolls through a new city. The bags are fun, flirty, easy to make and finish, but big enough to hold the essentials: keys, wallet (within reason, you know), lipstick, and dark chocolate. Perhaps best of all, the felting & finishing for these three bags is particularly easy. The Raspberry Liqueur bag can be made in one day, felted, and carried the next day. The Candied Orange Rind and Maraschino Cherri Bonbon bags may take slightly longer to knit, but not to finish! All you do is attach the felted "flaps" to the snap closure handle by folding them over a detachable rod and hand-sewing them in place (no fancy stitching as only you will see it). Once this is done (in as little as 40 minutes or so), you are ready to pack your little bag and walk out the door. Booklet A10664 $8.30 Click on image at left for larger view

Adventure Bags (No. 112) from Noni Because these bags are unstructured, they must be worn like garments - they come alive on the body. The soft drape of each bag makes it relaxed enough to travel with you on any adventure, from the urban landscape, to a long anticipated evening out, to a spontaneous jaunt for a long weekend. These bags are all very simple in their basic construction. Perfect for the beginning to experienced knitter. The only challenge, besides not being scared of how huge the Weekend Adventure bag is before you felt it, is putting the zipper in well, The pattern, however, includes detailed instructions, so don't let the zipper closure scare you away. You will love wearing these bags! Booklet A10663 $8.30 Click on image at left for larger view

Nomad Bag -- Make it Felted or Unfelted (No. 141) from Noni These great-looking, slouchy bags in the Hobo genre are easy to knit, felt, and finish. With three imminently practical sizes, they are also easy to wear and use. The hardware, available from JUL is interesting and gives the finished bag a fresh look that is comfortable on the shoulder or in the hand. I attached the handle rings to the bag with the handle tabs using four rivets, which makes the finishing quick as well as giving the bag a polished appearance. However, sewing the tabs is also a great option. The built-in zipper tabs make putting in a zipper easy and trouble-free. Use the small size for wallet and keys (or a great-looking lunch sack) and the medium for everyday use. The larger bag is perfect for women who find themselves gravitating toward those larger totes that allow them to carry all the essentials in one bag. A great pattern sure to become a Noni Classic. Pattern Difficulty: Intrepid beginner. Requires knowledge of knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches, and working in the round on circular needles. Worsted Weight Yarn Requirements: Small Hobo Bag 500 yds, Medium Hobo Bag 1,000 yds, Large Hobo Bag 1,600 yds. Booklet A10660 $8.30 Click on image at left for larger view
