The Smart Handbag: Cookie Smart
Cookie Smart is such a smart bag. It is perfect for when you just need to carry a few items. It is fully lined and has a back pocket for those items you need fast access to. But what makes Cookie so smart is that the flap is removable, so it can be changed. You can make one basic bag, and then make many extra flaps. They attach to the back of the bag with buttons, which are hidden inside the back pocket. Think of these flaps as a small art quilt. Get creative with embellishing. Try needle punching on a wool flap. The handle can also be made removable. Finished size: approximately 7.5" tall x 8.5" wide x 2.5" deep.

The bag is approximately 14" wide x 10" tall. The bag is great for carrying on a shopping trip or vacation. The top has a button loop closure. The pockets surround the entire inside of this tote and are various sizes that will hold pens, small note pads, cell phones, keys, lipstick, and plenty of room for that bulky wallet and checkbook. The Professional Tote has all the pockets and compartments needed for todays "professional" women. Whether you work in an office or not, this tote has it all. There is a pleated pocket on each side of the tote to hold a bottle of water, umbrella, magazine, baby bottle or telephone. Also, on the front is a zippered pocket to hold your ID and Passport for your airport travel. Behind that pocket is one for your boarding pass. On the backside is one large pocket for a newspaper. On the inside, there is a large center dividing zippered pocket that holds file folders. There is plenty of room inside for a laptop computer. Several pockets are inside for your business cards, keys, pens, PDA, and more. To finish it off, there is a zipper that will close tight to keep the contents secure. This would also work great as a sewing tote with a place for patterns or books, fabrics and notions. Handles can be made heavy weight webbing/belting, you will 3 1/2 yards are needed for one Professional Tote. Note: When you make the handles with fabric, you do not need any webbing.

Humbug Bag

Humbug Bag is a twisted tote that makes a perfect "little something" gift--for teachers, grandkids, neighbors, babysitters, etc. The shape is based on a traditional 19th century English candy, from which the bag takes its name.
