The Blanche Bag

This bag was inspired by Grandma Blanche. She created countless beautiful quilts and other useful items -always with unusual materials. Create your own collage of fabrics using cast-away clothing and scraps of fabrics with a man's tie for the closure. Or design it with a coordinated cotton collection. This bag is just the right size to hold everything you need for the day. The adjustable straps can be a recycled belt or made from fabric. There are two interior pockets for organizing. Finished size is approximately 13" x 17".

Grids & Grommets

This is a versatile style offered in two sizes. Make the large version as a tote or the smaller bag as an attractive purse. It incorporates grommets for closing and an easy technique to create a comfortable handle. Construct it from a plain fabric using an interesting quilting pattern or piece the bag incorporating your favorite jelly roll fabric (2 1/2" wide strips) coordinates. Double the straps over your shoulder or convert it to a single strap across your body for security and convenience.

Bella Bag

A versatile bag in two sizes - purse or tote. The roomy shoulder bag with a magnetic or button closure is lined and has an interior pocket. The vertical and horizontal seams on both the front and the back lend to the creative use of fabrics. The round flat bottom allows it to sit easily. Use two or more coordinating cotton fabrics alternating them as desired. Or use one fabric and embellish the top half of the bag using needle felting techniques (instructions enclosed). Approximate sizes of the purses (excluding handles) are 19" wide x 13" tall and 22" wide x 16" tall. For a different look a second closure can be added to the bag.

Patchwork Purse

This pieced patchwork purse is made from either 5 1/2" and 6 1/2" squares of coordinating cotton fabric or squares cut from your worn-out denim jeans. Several fabric squares are machine embroidered prior to assembly and strategically placed into the purse design. Grommets, leather strips, beads and store-bought handles finish the funky look. The purses measure 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" (excluding the handles) and are completely lined with two inner pockets.
