There are a number of sources of inspiration for this quilt: stunning silk fabric Jenny bought from Martha Pullen, beautiful embroidery designs and encouragement given to Jenny by Marti Michell. A quilt on the front cover of Down Under Quilts magazine sparked an idea, so out came Jenny's sketchpad and in no time the concept for Creative Fantasy was drawn. War of the Roses Special Edition CD
Simon designed and pieced the striped blocks for this quilt with another collection in mind but as often happens with good intentions time deleted this concept. While Simon's was away, Robbie and Jenny go to and started to embroider these beautiful red floral designs, with the idea of putting them on Simon's pieced fabric. Robbie and Jenny had a 'tiny' in-studio struggle convincing Simon that their idea was a good one; hence the name War of The Roses! All the embroidery is done with Jenny's Embroidered Decoupage technique, so perfect every time!
