Select a multicolored print fabric as your inspiration piece. It should have at least 3 colors in addition to the background color. Coordinate two "twist" colors, with similar values. Add punch with a star fabric using color from your inspiration piece. Selet a background that reads solid. You can Fussy Cut your centers to personalize your quilt. Quilt is made from Flying Geese Patches, Triangle Pieced Squares, and Twist Blocks. Pattern has yardage and cutting charts for Lap quilt (56" x 66"); Twin quilt (66" x 99"); and Queen quilt (88" x 99").

Contra Dance
Contra Dance has three simple blocks: a square 8", 10" or 12", a 4-patch made with 4", 5" or 6" squares and a block with 2 smaller 4-patches and 2 plain patches. All the blocks are set as straight rows. The quilt is then cut and resewn into an on-point setting. There are NO diagonal rows of different sizes, NO setting triangles and NO corner blocks. This technique makes On-Point sets a snap. Contra Dance is especially good when you want to feature a large or medium-large scale print.
Note: If your quilting style requires completely perfect points, this pattern may not be for you. Due to the nature of the technique, the corners of blocks that touch the inside border are slightly trimmed.
