For the traditionalist, you can't go past Helen Eriksson's stunning silk ribbon sampler, Garden Party or Susan O'Connor's wistful stumpwork picture, Loves Me. For the ultimate gift for a new mum, Jenny McWhinney's delightful bunny carry all, Hop to It, is just perfect. Issue 70 A13099 $15.95 Click on image at left for contents view

Inspirations This issue is rich in its diversity. 'Paper Dolls' feature the little blackwork figures, created by the talented Italian designer Bruna Scagnetti. Within the article you will find seven different blackwork patterns, one for each delightful figure. Originally, Bruna used this design on the base of a filmy white curtain, which would look just beautiful in a little child's room. If you or someone you love are an animal lover, you won't be able to resist Anna Scott's delightful soft toys, 'Friends' or the silk ribbon Rooster sachet, 'Cock-a-doodle-doo'. Another silk ribbon treat is the pretty woven needlecase 'Woven Dreams' stitched by Queenslander Gabrielle Henderson and was a runner up in the Just Gorgeous competition. More Aussie magic abounds with the elegant jewellery role, 'Prized Possessions' and the stunning floral mirror frame, 'Reflections'. If you enjoy more of a challenge, I'm sure you will find great satisfaction in tackling the Schwalm embroidered tea cloth, 'Sense of Place'. All in all, there is something for everyone. 10 different embroidery techniques, 13 beautiful projects and 155 step-by-step stitch photographs.
